Hello from Rupert Alexander and Poppy Lawrence, and welcome to our little bit of the Internet where we share with you everything we know about blinds from our long experience of dealing with blackout blinds, roman blinds, roller blinds, vertical blinds, venetian blinds and the wonderful velux blinds. We are a couple of interior designers specialising in window blinds who have been around the block a few times, and we decided it would be a good idea to share our experiences (and arguments) with you lovely people.

Thinking about purchasing window blinds? The first thing to do is to identify what fits best in your room.
Blackout blinds are the best option if you want to prevent any sunlight from entering your room. Vertical blinds or venetian blinds are best if you want something stylish and up to date.

Blinds are a great way to refresh the basic look your home without spending huge amounts of money. Blinds, whether roman, roller, venetian, vertical, velux or blackout are usually cheap compared to the cost of curtains, and much easier to maintain. They also provide insulation, give you privacy and protect your house and furniture from strong sunlight.

We have done projects all over the place and have gained quite a lot of experience in setting up homes for people who frankly have no interest or time to do it themselves. We have in the past done some fairly major projects for people you may have heard of (and what they get up to behind closed doors would make your ties curl). Mind you Poppy and I are not getting any younger so we decided we'd run this site as a bit of a retirement project. And besides, taking Napoleon (my doggie) for walks is much nicer.

We decided we'd concentrate on window blinds first as that's an easy starting point. And we know quite a lot about them anyway. One day I'll get a life.....*sigh*......

So anyway, have a look round, join the forum and ask questions and perhaps even post some of your own inspirations. They say that imitation is the biggest form of flattery. At least that's what I tell myself when I see that cow in Reading copying my designs.

Don't forget that even though we're talking blinds, you can also hang Curtains at the same time. Now that might sound really decadent (and let's face it; it is) but it gives you choice and you can set the mood much more easily. Sorry...digressing again...that drives Poppy nuts when I do that...mind you it's quite fun sometimes watching her reactions!
